In recognition of its service during the First World War, in 1928 the 15th Battalion, perpetuated by the 48th Highlanders of Canada, was awarded 21 Battle Honours – ten of which are emblazoned on the Regimental Colour. As well as on the Regimental Colour, the ten Battle Honours are also displayed on the Pipe Major’s pipe banner, the Drum Major’s baldric, on the drums carried by our bands and on the Regiment’s memorial in Toronto.
A compete list of all of the battle honours awarded to the 48th Highlanders can be found HERE.
In addition to the battle honours listed below, the 15th Battalion was awarded the Battle Honour “France and Flanders 1915 – 1918”. This Theatre of War Honour was awarded to units who served in France and Belgium between 1914 and 1918. The honour is awarded with year dates according to the year(s) in which the unit served in the theatre.
