Voices of War: Dreams of Peace

Voices of War: Dreams of Peace

To commemorate the centenary of the start of The Great War and the impact it had on the congregation of St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, the church and the 48th Highlanders Regimental Museum jointly produced an evening performance evening of engaging talks, dramatic readings, evocative period music and striking visual images to reflect on the First World War, remember the Fallen soldiers of St. Andrew’s, and ponder lessons to be learned. Brian Stewart, one of Canada’s most respected foreign correspondents, was the featured speaker and Rick Phillips, classical music writer, reviewer and speaker, highlighted the culture of the time. The 15th Battalion CEF Memorial Project assisted by producing the display panels and artifacts that featured selected members of church’s congregation that died in The Great War while serving with the 15th Battalion CEF.
