On July 31, 2014 the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy hosted a event at Varsity Stadium to commemorate the beginning of the Great War in 1914. It took the form of speakers, musical performances by singers and military bands as well as Canadian Forces troops on parade. The stadium’s video screen showed historical pictures that were synchronized with the speeches and performances. The 15th Battalion CEF Memorial Project’s Chairman assisted in the initial planning and The Project provided a large number of the period images that were used in the performance.
